Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a skilled Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic team. This role involves working on a range of business immigration cases, including but not limited to E-2, L-1A, H-1B, TN, PERM, EB-5 direct investments, and regional center investments, as well as EB-1A and EB-2 National Interest Waivers. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented legal professional passionate about immigration law and committed to client success.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants on immigration-related projects.
  • Manage direct communications with clients, USCIS, and consular offices.
  • Conduct in-depth case analysis and develop effective strategies for immigration matters.
  • Supervise legal assistants in preparing and filing visa applications, waivers, and other immigration documents.
  • Schedule and conduct client meetings, both in-person and via virtual platforms such as Zoom.
  • Regularly update clients on case progress and maintain organized tracking of active cases.
  • Respond to requests for evidence and government correspondence, ensuring timely and thorough responses.
  • Monitor and adhere to deadlines, maintaining a structured internal and external calendar.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Active membership in a State Bar Association.
  • 1-5 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proficiency in English with strong written communication skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Chinese is highly valued.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership is required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, with proven interest and relevant experience.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software and legal research tools.
  • Excellent client communication skills, with the ability to build trust and convey complex information.
  • Multilingual capabilities (Spanish or Chinese) are a plus.
