Job Overview:
A law firm based in Iselin, NJ, is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This position involves representing mortgage servicers and investors in residential and commercial foreclosure cases, as well as other real estate litigation matters. The role will include a variety of responsibilities, such as case strategy development, court appearances, document preparation, discovery, trial work, and settlement negotiations. Candidates should have experience in mortgage foreclosure law and strong litigation skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee a caseload of contested foreclosure matters and associated litigation for mortgage servicers and investors.
• Prosecute commercial foreclosures from initiation through resolution.
• Review and analyze loan files, title reports, and client documents.
• Draft motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in court for case management conferences, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring all directives and expectations are met.
• Collaborate with support staff to prepare and execute documents for filing and client reporting.
• Conduct legal research and collaborate with partners to develop strategies for complex cases.
• Create and manage matter budgets, obtain client fee approvals, and track billable/non-billable time.

Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• A New York Bar license in good standing is required.
• Additional Bar licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant litigation experience preferred; less experience may be considered for qualified candidates.
• In-depth knowledge of New York Mortgage Foreclosure Law and practice is essential.

Education:
• J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
• Admission to the New York Bar is required.
• Additional Bar admissions (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut) are beneficial.
