Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

Job Overview:
A growing insurance coverage and litigation defense law firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its New York office. Location:

Duties:

• Manage a caseload involving defense litigation, including general liability matters
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda
• Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions
• Conduct legal research competently and efficiently
• Prepare and take depositions of parties and expert witnesses
• Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports
• Handle cases from inception to trial
• Assist in mediations and court appearances
• Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of defense litigation experience
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York (New Jersey admission is a plus)
• Strong legal research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• High attention to detail with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and manage caseload effectively
• Knowledge of state and federal court procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York Bar (New Jersey Bar admission preferred)
