Duties:

  • Manage and handle legal matters related to managed care, including provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits.
  • Oversee out-of-network payor provider litigation cases.
  • Assume immediate responsibility for legal matters within the managed care practice area.
  • Engage in legal research, analysis, brief writing, and oral argument.
  • Collaborate effectively with legal teams and other professionals within the law firm.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of general litigation and/or arbitration experience.
  • Background in managed care with specific expertise in provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of managed care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated, personable, and articulate.
  • Experience working in a law firm environment.
  • Bar license in at least one of the following states is preferred: California, Texas, or Florida.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Preferred law school experience includes law clerk internships, moot court, or law review/journal participation.

 

Certifications:

Bar license in at least one of the following states is preferred: California, Texas, or Florida.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of managed care, including provider contract and billing disputes.
  • Legal research and analysis skills.
  • Strong brief writing and oral argument capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with legal teams.
  • Motivated and capable of assuming immediate responsibility for legal matters.
