A law firm seeks a Mid-level Associate to join its London office, specializing in high-value international arbitration cases. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience representing clients in arbitration and related litigation, including complex disputes involving transnational commercial contracts and international investment treaties. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with partners and colleagues on significant cases while contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence.

Duties

  • Collaborate with partners and team members on complex international arbitration cases and arbitration-related court litigations.
  • Advise clients on procedural requirements under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and best practices.
  • Develop and formulate case theories and strategies in conjunction with colleagues.
  • Take a lead role in drafting written submissions, ensuring clarity and persuasive arguments.
  • Manage the research and document review processes to support ongoing cases.
  • Assist in the preparation of witness and expert evidence for hearings and trials.
  • Liaise directly with clients, witnesses, experts, tribunals, courts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.

Requirements

  • Qualified as a solicitor or barrister in England & Wales.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in arbitration and arbitration-related litigations.
  • Proven experience in handling arbitration-related proceedings, including anti-suit injunctions, set-aside applications, and enforcement of arbitral awards.
  • Familiarity with advising on procedural requirements under the CPR.

Education

  • Strong academic background, preferably with a law degree from a recognized institution.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Bar or Law Society in England & Wales.

Skills

  • Exceptional writing abilities to craft concise and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong analytical skills to dissect complex legal and factual issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research, utilizing appropriate sources and tools efficiently.

  • Excellent oral presentation skills, able to convey arguments confidently and credibly before tribunals.
