Job Overview:
A respected law firm in Boulder, CO is seeking an experienced Senior Trust and Estate Attorney. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in estate planning, tax law, and trust administration. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high-net-worth clients, and provide advanced legal guidance on a wide range of trust and estate matters.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on complex estate planning, tax planning, asset protection, and trust administration.
  • Draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, specialized irrevocable trusts, and estate tax/GST tax planning.
  • Offer guidance on the tax implications related to trusts and estates.
  • Assist clients with the administration of trusts and estates.
  • Collaborate with other departments and attorneys to provide comprehensive client services.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in trust, estate, and tax law to ensure optimal client advice.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys, sharing expertise and contributing to the firm’s collective knowledge base.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • 7-12 years of post-law school experience in trust and estate planning, tax planning, and trust administration.
  • Active license to practice law in Colorado (or the ability to obtain licensure).
  • CPA certification or LL.M. in Taxation is required.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • CPA certification or LL.M. in Taxation.
