Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to handle complex commercial litigation, product liability, and personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, the ability to independently draft key legal documents, and the potential for trial experience. This role provides the opportunity to manage cases from inception to resolution and contribute to high-profile litigation matters.

Duties:

• Represent clients in complex commercial litigation, product liability, and personal injury matters.
• Independently draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, briefs, and case analyses.
• Assist in all phases of litigation, from case strategy development through trial, including depositions, discovery, and pre-trial motions.
• Manage multiple litigation matters, ensuring cases progress efficiently and deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop litigation strategies and execute case plans.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution efforts on behalf of clients.
• Provide ongoing communication and updates to clients on case developments and legal strategies.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary to advocate for client interests.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Ohio State Bar and in good standing.
• 2-5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, product liability, or personal injury litigation.
• Proven ability to independently draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and other standard litigation documents.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Ohio Bar (required).
• Additional certifications related to litigation or trial advocacy (preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to draft complex legal documents effectively and concisely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
• Trial experience or interest in trial work is a bonus, with the ability to handle courtroom proceedings.
• Strong project management skills to manage multiple cases and ensure deadlines and litigation milestones are met.
• Attention to detail and analytical abilities to evaluate and address complex legal issues.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
