A law firm seeks a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing practice in Tampa, FL. This unique hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple practice areas, including healthcare, guardianship, and commercial litigation. The firm primarily represents long-term care providers and small businesses, with occasional government affairs work. The ideal candidate will be driven, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a variety of complex legal matters in a collaborative environment. A Georgia Bar admission is a plus but not required.

Duties:

  • Legal Practice Areas:
    • Represent clients in guardianship, healthcare, and commercial litigation cases.
    • Focus primarily on representing long-term care providers, with additional work for small businesses and limited government affairs representation.
  • Litigation and Case Management:
    • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
    • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and court appearances.
    • Manage caseloads efficiently while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Client Interaction and Strategy:
    • Advise clients on legal issues related to healthcare, guardianship, and business operations.
    • Develop legal strategies and solutions tailored to clients' needs.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with senior attorneys and team members to strategize and deliver optimal results for clients.
    • Support the firm in expanding its presence in the areas of healthcare and guardianship law.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • 1-5 years of experience in guardianship, healthcare, or commercial litigation.
    • Familiarity with long-term care provider representation is highly preferred.
  • Travel:

    • Ability to travel to the New Tampa office daily (office work required for half day).
  • Additional Skills:

    • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
    • A collaborative mindset with an interest in working closely with a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida State Bar is required.
  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Legal Research and Drafting: Proficiency in legal research tools and drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
