Job Overview

A growing and dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage & Litigation Attorney to join its New York City office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation, specifically handling declaratory judgment and bad faith actions. The role involves providing a wide range of services, including drafting coverage opinions, reviewing policy language, and litigating cases in both state and federal courts. The firm offers flexibility in work arrangements, including remote work options.

Duties

• Draft coverage opinions and review insurance policy language.
• Review and assess claim documents related to insurance coverage matters.
• Handle declaratory judgment actions and bad faith litigations from inception to trial.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and manage discovery and depositions.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing in coverage matters.
• Provide coverage assessments to clients, including private equity, fiduciary, errors and omissions, D&O, and professional liability policies, along with general liability and property policies.
• Work in both state and federal court proceedings, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation.
• Experience handling declaratory judgment and bad faith actions.
• Proven ability to manage complex coverage matters, including drafting and reviewing policy language and providing assessments to clients.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to handle litigation from case inception to trial.
• Experience with private equity, fiduciary, and other professional liability policies preferred.
• Ability to manage discovery and depositions effectively.
• Current New York Bar admission in good standing is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• New York Bar admission (required).
