Job Overview:

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Trust & Estates Attorney for a Partner or Of Counsel position in their Naples, Florida office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in succession planning and complex estate planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing taxable estates and using sophisticated instruments for multi-generational wealth transfer, as well as post-mortem administration and tax return preparation. Strong interpersonal and business development skills are essential for this role.

Location:

  • Naples, Florida

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel in all areas of trust, estate, and wealth preservation planning, including the use of GST-exempt trusts, GRATs, SLATs, and IDGTs.
  • Advise clients on taxable estates, wealth transfer, and related strategies.
  • Draft and review complex estate planning documents.
  • Handle post-mortem estate administration.
  • Prepare and review estate and gift tax returns, including Forms 706, 709, and 1041.
  • Manage direct client relationships and deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and firm growth.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in trust and estate law, with expertise in taxable estates and wealth transfer strategies.
  • Experience with multi-generational wealth transfer and complex estate planning instruments.
  • Proficiency in post-mortem administration and tax return preparation/review.
  • Strong business development acumen and ability to bring in new clients.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders across the firm.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and client service orientation.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Florida Bar membership required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in trust and estate planning, wealth preservation, and estate administration.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex client matters and build long-term client relationships.
  • Business development and networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
