A law firm in Newark, NJ, is seeking a Junior Real Estate Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will be involved in due diligence, lease review, and the preparation and facilitation of real estate closings.

Duties:

  • Conduct due diligence for commercial real estate transactions, including reviewing title reports, surveys, and leases.
  • Assist in the preparation of closing documents and facilitate the closing process for commercial real estate deals.
  • Review and summarize leases and purchase and sale agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and deal terms.
  • Coordinate with senior attorneys and clients to ensure smooth execution of real estate transactions.
  • Participate in coordinating sophisticated loan closings (a bonus if experienced in this area).
  • Stay informed about local real estate laws in New Jersey and New York.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate law.
  • Significant experience in conducting due diligence, including title, survey, and lease reviews.
  • Experience preparing closing documents and participating in real estate closings.
  • Admission to practice law in New Jersey, New York, or both.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior attorneys and other professionals in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of real estate law and regulations in New Jersey and New York.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Admission to both New Jersey and New York is preferred but not required.
