Patent and Trademark Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled and experienced Patent and Trademark Attorney with a large portable book of business. Preferably, candidates with a group of attorneys are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have years of relevant experience.

Duties:

• Conducting patent and trademark searches
• Drafting and prosecuting patent and trademark applications
• Advising clients on patent and trademark infringement matters
• Handling patent and trademark litigation
• Providing legal counsel on intellectual property matters
• Managing client relationships and portfolios
• Collaborating with other attorneys and staff on intellectual property cases

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity
• Years of experience in patent and trademark law
• A portable book of business is preferred
• Group of attorneys with portable business highly desirable
• Strong understanding of patent and trademark laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity
