A law firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of law firm experience to join the Energy and Infrastructure Projects group. The ideal candidate will possess strong transactional experience in M&A or financing transactions, with a preference for those who have worked on energy or other infrastructure development, project finance, and/or project acquisitions and dispositions. The candidate must demonstrate high academic achievement and a passion for delivering high-quality work and service to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Handle transactional work related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financing transactions.
  • Provide legal support on energy and infrastructure development projects.
  • Manage project finance transactions and project acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents, including purchase agreements, financing agreements, and other related contracts.
  • Conduct due diligence and analyze risks associated with transactions.
  • Advise clients on legal and regulatory issues related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop and implement transaction strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory developments.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in transactional matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service and effective communication.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in a law firm environment, focusing on M&A or financing transactions.
  • Experience with energy or other infrastructure development, project finance, and/or project acquisitions and dispositions (preferred).
  • Strong academic record and high level of achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions and legal issues.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the D.C. Bar or eligibility for admission.
