Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience in insurance defense

A law firm in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience in insurance defense. The ideal candidate will have superior writing and litigation skills, experience in personal injury and/or bodily injury litigation (plaintiff or defense), and the ability to manage complex cases from inception through resolution. Prior experience in the insurance industry or corporate risk management is a plus.

Duties:

• Draft, review, and analyze legal documents, including reports to carriers, pleadings, motions, and discovery notices/responses.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other resources.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Appear in court for conferences, motions, hearings, and trials.
• Manage complex cases independently from inception through resolution.
• Collaborate effectively with experts, clients, and other legal professionals.

Requirements:

• Active membership in the Florida State Bar and in good standing.
• 1-3 years of experience in insurance defense or related litigation.
• Experience in personal injury and/or bodily injury litigation preferred.
• Prior experience in the insurance industry or corporate risk management is advantageous.
• Strong ability to manage complex cases and conduct thorough discovery.
• Superior writing and litigation skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida State Bar.
