Job Overview: A law firm in McLean, VA, is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with technology and intellectual property law expertise. The ideal candidate will handle complex transactions and provide legal counsel on various issues, including software licensing, IP development, and digital infrastructure deals.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate complex technology and intellectual property agreements, including software licensing, cloud services, and data/IP development agreements.
  • Advise clients on reseller and distribution agreements, e-commerce deals, AI/ML development, and media/content licensing agreements.
  • Conduct IP due diligence for M&A, private equity, and corporate transactions.
  • Provide legal support for global IT outsourcing, facilities management, and business process outsourcing transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience practicing law, focusing on technology and intellectual property.
  • Experience in drug and medical device development, data privacy, security, or government services is advantageous.
  • Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school with relevant business, technology, and intellectual property law coursework.
  • Admission to the bar in Virginia (preferred) or eligibility to waive into the Virginia bar.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and offices.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
