Job Overview:
A growing law firm specializing in employment litigation is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its team. The position offers flexibility with a fully remote, hybrid, or in-person work arrangement, depending on the candidate's preference. The ideal candidate should have some experience in employment law litigation, though this is not required. The role involves a variety of litigation tasks including law and motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial work. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle law and motion practice, including drafting motions and responses
  • Propound and respond to discovery requests
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Oppose motions for summary judgment
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Appear in court as required
  • Manage caseloads and collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy
  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients on employment-related matters

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (Required)
  • Some experience in employment law litigation preferred
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Experience in taking depositions, attending hearings, and preparing for trial is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • California State Bar License (Required)
