Duties:

  • Represent clients in tax controversies, including audits, administrative appeals, and litigation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex tax issues.

  • Provide strategic tax advice and counseling to clients.
  • Manage and oversee all tax controversy matters from inception to resolution.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals within the firm on multidisciplinary cases.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements in all client engagements.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and LLM in Taxation from accredited law schools.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in tax controversy and litigation.
  • Strong academic credentials and exemplary research and writing skills.
  • Proven track record in handling tax audits, appeals, and litigation.
  • Experience managing multiple complex matters concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional client service skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Active license to practice law in Washington, DC.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with state and local tax controversies.
  • Background in accounting or finance.
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment.
