A law firm seeks an experienced Land Use Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience handling land use and zoning issues, with a particular focus on Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. This role will involve working with both public and private sector clients on a wide range of land use matters, including zoning due diligence, code compliance, and permitting. Experience with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leasing, and affordable housing tax credits, will be considered a plus. The firm offers a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule to provide flexibility.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in land use and zoning matters across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties
  • Prepare and file applications for administrative and public hearing approvals in local jurisdictions
  • Advise on zoning due diligence, code compliance issues, and other regulatory matters
  • Assist with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leasing, and dispositions
  • Provide legal counsel on affordable housing tax credits and related legal matters
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver strategic legal solutions
  • Develop creative approaches to solving legal issues and managing complex matters

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in land use and zoning law, with familiarity with Florida
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented, with a focus on collaboration and client service
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
  • Member of the Florida Bar in good standing

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida (Florida Bar membership required)
