General Liability Of Counsel/Partner

A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a General Liability Of Counsel/Partner to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing complex general liability cases, performing in-depth legal analysis, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. This position requires a highly experienced attorney with strong writing, research, and litigation skills, as well as the ability to handle a demanding caseload and provide exceptional client service.

Duties:

• Review files and conduct comprehensive legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Regularly represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Collaborate with and retain expert witnesses as needed.
• Prepare for and attend trials, including managing trial strategy and presenting cases.
• Some travel may be required for client meetings, court appearances, and depositions.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the states of NY and NJ; admission in additional states is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in general liability; experience in other practice areas is a plus.
• Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong research skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Proven ability to self-manage, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client interaction skills and a professional telephone manner.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey; admission to additional states is advantageous.
