Case Origination Associate Attorney

A law firm in Minneapolis is seeking a Case Origination Associate Attorney to research and develop complex class action cases in federal and state courts. The attorney will work closely with the firm's complex class action litigation team to generate new case ideas and practice areas, conduct legal research, draft complaints, and maintain client relationships.

Job Duties:

• Research and generate complex class action cases in federal and state courts, focusing on large-scale systemic unfairness in areas such as retirement, trusts, and the finance industry.
• Develop new case ideas and practice areas in collaboration with the complex class action litigation team.
• Conduct thorough legal research and pre-suit investigations to support case development.
• Draft complaints, preliminary briefs, and other legal documents as necessary.
• Develop and nurture client relationships, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the case lifecycle.
• Supervise and work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, interns, and clerks on case-related tasks and projects.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Minnesota Bar, or eligibility for admission within six months of hire.
• 2+ years of experience as a litigator, preferably with a focus on complex litigation or class actions.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
• Strategic thinking and creativity in identifying potential case opportunities and developing legal strategies.
