A law firm in Sarasota is seeking a Patent Attorney with 3+ years of patent prosecution experience to counsel clients on all aspects of intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent prosecution. The ideal candidate must be an active member in good standing of the Patent Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on various aspects of intellectual property law, with a focus on patent prosecution.
  • Conduct patentability searches and provide opinions on patent validity and infringement.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Advise clients on patent portfolio management and strategy.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for intellectual property transactions.
  • Assist with intellectual property litigation matters as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Active member in good standing of the Patent Bar.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Patent Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of patent law and procedures.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to conduct patentability searches and due diligence reviews.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
