A law firm seeks an experienced Project Development Attorney to join its team in Dallas, TX. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure projects, particularly within the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development, with expertise in large-scale projects and renewable energy technologies. As part of a collaborative and innovative legal team, you will work on high-profile projects that shape the future of energy storage, power generation, and energy transition technologies.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on all aspects of project development, including construction, procurement, and operational phases.
  • Negotiate and draft complex agreements, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements, and equipment procurement contracts.
  • Specialize in large-scale infrastructure projects within the renewable energy and energy transition sectors.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution, mitigate risks, and resolve legal issues.
  • Provide strategic counsel on regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and risk management.
  • Work on cross-border projects, gaining exposure to international clients and diverse legal practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development law.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in negotiating and drafting large-scale infrastructure agreements.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and provide innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across various legal and business teams.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic record preferred.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Texas or eligibility for admission in a reasonable time frame.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating EPC, O&M, and other development-related contracts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach with a focus on problem-solving and client satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in handling regulatory compliance and dispute management in large-scale projects.
