Job Overview:
A respected civil litigation firm based in Dallas, TX is seeking an Associate Personal Injury Attorney to join its team. The firm focuses on plaintiff-side personal injury and school/government liability cases. The ideal candidate will have experience with depositions and an interest in attending court hearings and mediations. This role offers significant mentorship from senior attorneys and ample opportunities for professional development and trial participation. The firm also provides AI technology to enhance productivity and efficiency, enabling attorneys to focus on case strategy rather than administrative tasks.

Location:

  • Dallas, TX

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of various personal injury matters in litigation
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including filing complaints
  • Draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes
  • Prepare clients for depositions and hearings
  • Take and defend depositions throughout litigation
  • Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions
  • Attend court appearances
  • Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases
  • Direct and support investigations on assigned litigation matters

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Personal Injury Law
  • Strong background in Personal Injury Litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Active member in good standing with the Texas State Bar
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation law is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Current active license to practice law in Texas

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Ability to take and defend depositions
  • Experience in negotiating settlements
  • Familiarity with personal injury litigation and legal procedures
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort with using legal technology and software
