A reputable law firm in Louisville, KY is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in commercial real estate finance to join their CMBS Lending & Servicing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) lending and asset servicing transactions while offering strategic advice to clients on complex financing structures. This is a key role in a dynamic legal environment with opportunities for growth and collaboration within a highly skilled team.

Duties:

  • Handle CMBS and balance sheet financing transactions for commercial real estate clients.
  • Manage asset management and servicing of CMBS and balance sheet loans.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents for complex real estate finance transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients on various real estate finance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards in commercial real estate finance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient transaction management.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making and client guidance.
  • Maintain and organize client files, keeping them up to date throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance with a focus on CMBS lending and loan servicing.
  • Strong understanding of CMBS and balance sheet loan structures.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling real estate finance transactions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and drafting skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to Kentucky Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
