As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for supporting clients through family-related legal matters, including divorce, custody disputes, asset division, and more. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings for various family law matters such as divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, alimony, and modification actions.
  • Prepare discovery documents and temporary hearing packets.
  • File motions and attend family court hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Prepare financial declarations and asset spreadsheets.
  • Develop trial strategies, including crafting opening statements, direct and cross-examinations, and closing arguments.
  • Represent clients with the highest level of professionalism, ensuring thorough preparation for hearings and trials.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in family law preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
