Duties:

  • Handle patent prosecution and counseling for high-tech clients
  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to discuss technical details
  • Engage in direct client interaction, including with prominent tech companies
  • Support additional related legal work as required
  • Provide strategic guidance on patent law and related intellectual property matters
  • Draft legal documents related to patent prosecution and counseling
  • Ensure efficient management of patent portfolios for clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling
  • Technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, or a related field
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with both clients and colleagues
  • Ability to manage patent prosecution and counseling cases independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • U.S. bar membership
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of patent law and technology
  • Experience in managing patent prosecution and counseling matters
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners
  • Excellent writing and research abilities
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork
