A law firm seeks a Principal Attorney with a deep background in franchise law to join its Business Group in Spokane, WA. The attorney will work alongside a talented team, providing comprehensive support throughout the franchise lifecycle, from initial agreements and compliance to dispute resolution.

Duties

  • Represent franchisors, franchisees, manufacturers, and distributors involved in franchise and licensing activities.
  • Prepare and review offering documents, including franchise disclosure documents and registrations.
  • Draft franchise agreements and related legal documents.
  • Advise on compliance with franchise laws and manage franchise relationship issues.
  • Address government inquiries and assist with franchise-related dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with attorneys from various practice areas to provide cohesive legal solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in franchise law, including representing franchisors and franchisees, managing franchise documentation, advising on compliance, and handling government inquiries.
  • Portable Book of Business: Required (partial or full).
  • Academic Credentials: JD from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic record.
  • Licensing: Active law license.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, writing, and client service skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective client interactions and advisement.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work within a diverse team and independently as needed.
  • Project Management: Skilled at managing multiple projects and responsibilities with a high level of attention to detail.

Education
