Job Overview

A prestigious law firm is seeking a Junior Associate to join its market-leading Renewable Energy Project Finance team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will work on renewable energy projects, including wind and solar power and storage, and will be involved in complex transactions such as construction financing, term loan financing, and back-leverage financing. The role offers significant exposure to project documents and related diligence on the construction and operation of these projects.

Duties

  • Assist in renewable energy project financings, including wind, solar, and battery storage transactions.
  • Draft exhibits, financial documents, and corporate materials for project finance transactions.
  • Review and manage project documents related to the construction and operation of renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and other team members on complex transactions, including construction financing, term loans, and back-leverage financings.
  • Work closely with senior associates, partners, and clients on high-profile renewable energy projects across the U.S.

Requirements

  • Experience in general corporate or project finance transactions.
  • Exposure to or interest in renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage.
  • Excellent drafting, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a capacity to manage transactions and work within teams.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications and Skills

  • Admitted to the Illinois Bar (in good standing).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy project finance and energy law.
