A law firm in Louisville is seeking an Entry-level Patent Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have a technical background, have already taken the Patent Bar, and possess excellent academic credentials along with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

 

Job Details:

  • Utilize technical background and legal knowledge to handle patent-related matters.
  • Assist in patent prosecution, drafting patent applications, and conducting patent searches.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and scientists to understand and analyze inventions.
  • Provide legal advice on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement issues.
  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to patent law and intellectual property.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on patent-related cases.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Stay updated on changes in patent laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including patent applications, responses to office actions, and opinions.
  • Assist in patent litigation support if required.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • Technical background, preferably in a field related to patents (engineering, science, etc.).
  • Passed the Patent Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in patent law.
