A law firm in Boston, MA is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills, and must be licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. This role involves handling general liability claims, including extensive legal research, drafting, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to manage a high caseload effectively.

Duties:

  • Review and analyze files related to general liability claims and causes of action.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Represent clients regularly in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses as needed.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, including developing case strategies and presenting evidence.
  • Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Handle case-related travel as needed for client meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
  • Respond promptly to email and phone inquiries from clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate excellent client interaction skills and maintain a professional telephone manner.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts; admission in additional states is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in general liability.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid research capabilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage while working effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases while meeting billable hour requirements.
  • Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts; additional state admissions are advantageous.
