A law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a skilled and dedicated Immigration Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in immigration law and a strong commitment to providing excellent client service. The role involves conducting legal research, drafting documents, representing clients in court, and collaborating with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies. The candidate should possess solid communication skills, analytical abilities, and the capability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research to support immigration cases, including researching statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide written analyses of legal issues related to immigration matters.
  • Interact with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and address their concerns.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials, and argue motions on their behalf.
  • Manage and organize case files, including maintaining documentation, tracking deadlines, and coordinating communication with other parties involved in the case.
  • Work closely with partners and senior attorneys to develop legal strategies, prepare for cases, and seek guidance on complex legal issues.
  • Provide legal advice to clients, often under the supervision of more experienced attorneys.
  • Stay informed about changes in immigration law and participate in continuing legal education to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Successful completion of the Bar exam.
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • 4+ years of experience practicing immigration law, personal injury (PI) law, or crimmigration law.
  • Experience with immigration court proceedings, including asylum cases and removal proceedings, is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior attorneys to effectively serve client needs and expand the client base.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.

Skills:

  • Proficient in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, staff, and senior attorneys.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex legal issues.
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple case files simultaneously.
  • Experience in immigration court proceedings and understanding of immigration law.
  • Bilingual Spanish (preferred).
