A law firm seeks an enthusiastic Associate Attorney to join its Community Association (HOA) Practice Group in either Greenville, SC, or Charlotte, NC. This position is suitable for candidates with 0-3 years of experience. Duties

  • Provide general counsel to clients regarding community associations.
  • Assist in amending governing documents and enforce compliance with covenants and restrictions.
  • Resolve disputes arising from board and annual meetings as well as neighborhood conflicts.
  • Manage the collection of dues and assessments, including representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and audiences, delivering clear and concise advice.

Requirements

  • Active South Carolina license to practice law; dual licensure in North Carolina or eligibility for admission via a current UBE score is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Candidates should be self-starters with a desire to work independently and contribute to the growth of the firm's community association practice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the South Carolina Bar is required; dual licensure in North Carolina is a plus.
