Job Overview
A prestigious law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Immigration Attorney to join its legal team. The Associate Attorney will report directly to the Senior Associate Attorney and manage a caseload, work directly with clients, and collaborate closely with a team of dedicated immigration attorneys and legal assistants. Duties

• Provide strategic legal guidance on immigration matters
• Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals
• Oversee an active caseload, managing deadlines and case updates
• Conduct intakes with detained clients at detention centers
• Prepare and submit various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense cases
• Review immigration case documents and make necessary adjustments
• Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law updates
• Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to determine case strategy
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
• Analyze legal issues and advise clients on case benefits and strategies
• Draft and submit legal briefs across a variety of immigration-related matters

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in immigration law
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a legal team effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills for client and team interaction
• Ability to manage and advance multiple legal cases
• Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, EOIR, citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes
• Preferred experience with case management software

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to a State Bar in good standing

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in any U.S. state

• Strong organizational skills for managing a diverse caseload
