Business Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex litigation cases and will be responsible for all aspects of litigation practice, including motion practice, discovery, brief writing, and trial participation.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct motion practice and manage discovery processes.
• Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and other documents.
• Prepare for and conduct witness depositions, including taking and defending depositions.
• Represent clients in court appearances and during trial preparation.
• Interact with clients to provide updates, gather information, and discuss case strategies.
• Prepare cases for trial, including organizing evidence and developing legal arguments.
• Participate in trials, presenting evidence, and making legal arguments on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management.

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of relevant experience in business litigation.
• Demonstrated expertise in all facets of litigation practice.
• Proven experience in case management, including fact investigation and discovery.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with a focus on advocacy.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of business litigation and legal procedures.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and briefs.
• Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
