The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in consumer financial regulations, including state and federal laws pertaining to payments, credit products, and unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (UDAAP).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze complex regulatory issues impacting consumer financial services.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on compliance matters related to consumer protection laws.
  • Draft and review regulatory filings, disclosures, and agreements.
  • Represent clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Assist in developing compliance policies and procedures for financial institutions and fintech companies.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and trends affecting the financial services industry.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in New York State in good standing.
  • 4 years of experience practicing law, focusing on consumer financial regulations.
  • Strong understanding of UDAAP laws and regulations.
  • Experience with emerging platforms, fintech, mortgage lending, cryptocurrency, or digital assets is preferred.
  • Prior experience at a law firm handling regulatory matters is a plus.
