Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A distinguished law firm in Glendale, CA is seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong background in general liability defense to join their legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated attorney with 3-10 years of experience in handling general liability claims, including but not limited to auto accidents, premises liability, professional lines, medical malpractice, and long-term care defense. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop defense strategies, manage cases, and represent clients in court proceedings.

Duties:

  • Review and analyze medical records to build strong defense strategies.
  • Draft legal motions and pleadings for court filings.
  • Attend hearings and represent clients in court.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions.
  • Draft initial, interim, and pre-trial reports.
  • Handle trial preparation and appellate work.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances for hearings and trials.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California.
  • 3-10 years of experience in general liability defense.
  • Strong ability to analyze and solve complex legal issues.
  • Exceptional research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.
  • Courtroom experience, including hearings and trials.
  • Ability to take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • An active member of the California Bar.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:
