Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a Team Attorney with substantial experience in commercial real estate finance, specializing in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). This role is ideal for an attorney looking for a non-partnership track with reduced billable hour requirements. The Team Attorney will be responsible for supporting major clients in the real estate finance sector and working closely with experienced legal professionals on complex transactions.

Duties

  • Provide legal support on commercial real estate finance transactions, with a focus on CMBS.
  • Review and abstract securitization instruments, including legacy, new issuance, and replacement special servicer instruments.
  • Work with pooling and servicing agreements, indentures, inter-creditor agreements, and co-lender agreements.
  • Collaborate with a team to deliver high-quality legal services to a large client in the industry.
  • Utilize proprietary client software to manage and process transaction-related documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, with a focus on CMBS.
  • Strong understanding of CMBS transactions and relevant legal agreements.
  • Experience with loan servicing transactions is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and provide high-quality legal counsel.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction of one of the office locations, or eligibility for reciprocity/waiver.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in handling CMBS-related documentation and transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
