Tax Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in tax law is seeking a skilled Tax Associate Attorney to join their team in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in tax law, mainly focused on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and possess an LL.M. in Tax.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to complex tax issues, specifically in the context of mergers and acquisitions.
• Draft and review legal documents, including agreements, contracts, and tax filings.
• Provide strategic tax advice and counsel to clients regarding M&A transactions.
• Assist in due diligence investigations and risk assessments related to tax matters.
• Represent clients in negotiations and interactions with tax authorities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing tax law, strongly emphasizing mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience working in an AmLaw 200 tax group, federal Tax M&A group, or a related area at a Big 4 Accounting firm preferred.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• LL.M. in Taxation from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• CPA certification (preferred but not required).
