Job Overview:

A highly respected law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in immigration law, managing diverse cases, and representing both detained and non-detained individuals. This role offers the opportunity for career growth in a collaborative legal environment. The attorney will manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with a skilled team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties:

  • Provide counsel on immigration concepts and offer strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload and ensure timely and effective handling of each case.
  • Conduct intakes and visit detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including those related to removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Review immigration packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law updates.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and develop case strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS testimonies.
  • Offer legal analysis to clients to determine case benefits and potential outcomes.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and strategize with fellow attorneys and legal professionals.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple cases and advancing legal matters.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Arizona.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar of Arizona.
  • Immigration-related certifications are preferred

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced workload with diverse clients and case types.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
