Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in family law, including marital property issues, custody disputes, divorce, separation, mediation, and spousal and child support. This role requires substantial client interaction and the ability to handle complex legal matters with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload, including marital property issues, custody disputes, divorce, separation, mediation, and spousal and child support.
  • Provide legal representation and counsel to clients in family law matters.
  • Assist with other legal matters such as commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and personalized service.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court, negotiations, and mediation sessions.
  • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and legal trends relevant to family law.
  • Participate in business development activities to generate new clients and expand the firm’s practice areas.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as an attorney, with a strong focus on family law.
  • Experience in commercial litigation is a plus.
  • Proven track record of managing complex family law cases with successful outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland.
