The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, a proven track record in managing complex family-related legal issues, and a passion for advocating for clients. The role involves representing clients in various family law matters, drafting legal documents, and preparing cases for court. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, equitable distribution, child custody, child support, and spousal support.
  • Understand that clients' problems are multifaceted and provide holistic support.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Develop case strategies and provide direction to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and separation agreements.
  • Prepare and present cases in court effectively.
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate, including representing clients in mediation and settlement conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Stay updated on changes in family law legislation and incorporate relevant updates into practice.
  • Manage a full caseload and ensure thorough case management.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State of North Carolina.
  • 5+ years of family law experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in representing clients in various family law matters.
  • Experience managing a full caseload effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with the State of North Carolina.
