Job Overview:

A leading law firm specializing in Lemon Law and consumer protection litigation is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney for its Newport Beach, California office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to represent consumers in litigation against car manufacturers and dealerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in consumer protection law, a minimum of three years of litigation experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

  • Newport Beach,CA

Duties:

  • Written Discovery:

    • Draft discovery requests and responses.
    • Review document productions and conduct e-discovery.
  • Law & Motion:

    • Draft motions related to discovery disputes and pleadings.
    • Prepare oppositions to summary adjudication and other motions.
    • Participate in oral arguments in courtrooms for various legal matters, including case management and summary judgment.
  • Depositions:

    • Prepare and defend clients in depositions.
    • Depose percipient witnesses and corporate representatives.
    • Assist with expert depositions and vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Ensure timely reporting and billing of hours worked.
    • Assist with additional tasks as directed by partners.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of litigation experience as a California-licensed attorney.
  • Strong interest in consumer protection law.
  • Ability to manage multiple caseloads and prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, depositions, and vehicle inspections.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.

Education:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to adopt technology solutions and work in a paperless environment.
