Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of immigration concepts and the ability to present strategic solutions to clients. This role involves representing non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings and managing a diverse workload of immigration cases.

Key Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of various immigration cases efficiently.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and develop necessary case strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine possible case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • High-caliber interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Ability to provide legal analysis and prepare comprehensive legal documents.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Bar membership in the state of Arizona or ability to obtain admission.
