A law firm seeks a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration team in Fort Worth, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney with a passion for immigration law to make a significant impact within a dynamic and expanding practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, representing clients in removal proceedings, and providing strategic counsel in a variety of immigration matters. Duties:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on a range of immigration issues, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other immigration matters.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), handling cases for both detained and non-detained individuals.
  • Manage a full caseload of immigration cases, ensuring efficient progression and timely resolution.
  • Conduct client intakes and offer legal guidance to detained individuals in detention centers.
  • Prepare, review, and file various immigration applications, including petitions for removal defense and family-based immigration benefits.
  • Work closely with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes to immigration law and policy.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients, assess case merits, and develop legal strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients, identifying potential benefits and avenues for case progression.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs, motions, and other documents required in immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in immigration law, with a strong focus on removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS applications.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload efficiently and move legal cases forward.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment, with a focus on shared goals and problem-solving.
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish), with the ability to communicate fluently in both languages.
  • Experience working with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, particularly in areas such as removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, and citizenship matters.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to draft detailed legal documents and present arguments effectively.
  • High-level client service skills, with the ability to develop personalized strategies based on each client’s needs.
  • Proficient in legal research, analysis, and application of immigration laws.
  • Experience with case management software and other legal tools to manage cases and track deadlines.
