Mid-Level Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The attorney will manage cases from inception to resolution, including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and participating in court appearances and trials. Duties:

• Handle litigation matters involving wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction, breach of contract, and business disputes
• Manage cases from start to finish, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and preparing discovery
• Argue motions in court and attend mediations
• Collaborate with team members and work closely with experienced partners
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel
• Independently manage a caseload while working within a team environment
• Participate in trials, with opportunities for early trial experience

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience, including at least one year of experience defending tort claims
• Proficiency in legal research, document analysis, and drafting complex legal memoranda
• Experience preparing pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions and legal briefs
• Ability to appear in court and represent clients effectively
• Experience taking and defending depositions, attending mediations, and arguing motions is preferred
• Trial experience is a plus
• Strong communication, advocacy, and client relationship management skills
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and collaborate with a team
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the State Bar of California
