A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Associate Attorney to join its team in Downers Grove, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in both litigation and transactional matters, providing valuable support in a variety of legal areas. Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation for trials, including strategy discussions, discovery, reviewing records, and preparing clients and witnesses.
  • Conduct legal and factual research to support ongoing cases and projects.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, including dispositive motions.
  • Respond to written discovery requests.
  • Analyze and summarize complex legal documents.
  • Attend and assist in depositions, hearings, and other court-related matters.
  • Engage in case analysis and collaborate on the development of litigation strategies.
  • Review contracts and assist in ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Help update client employee handbooks and assist in addressing various legal needs.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of legal experience, with a focus on litigation or transactional matters.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or eligibility to gain admission) is required.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience drafting legal documents and assisting in case management.
