A law firm seeks a Senior Immigration Attorney with at least five years of experience in immigration law to join its growing practice in Rockville, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling various immigration matters, including family and employment-based petitions, deportation defense, and immigration court appearances. Duties

  • Prepare and file various immigration petitions and applications, including Family/Employment-Based Petitions.
  • Handle complex immigration matters such as Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visas, Adjustment of Status, Naturalization/Citizenship, TPS, Deportation/Removal Defense, and Asylum.
  • Manage cases involving PERM, EB-5, H-1B, NACARA, and BIA Appeals.
  • Represent clients in immigration court, as well as before USCIS, ICE, and CBP.
  • File Motions to Reopen/Reconsider and manage Waivers for clients.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients and deliver effective legal advice.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proofread and edit legal documents to ensure high-quality work product.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration procedures and regulations, including family and employment-based immigration, asylum, removal defense, and naturalization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High attention to detail and ability to proofread and edit legal documents.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland or Virginia.
