Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Associate Attorney to join its growing team. As an Associate Attorney, you will gain valuable experience working under the mentorship of senior attorneys and contribute to various legal matters while building your career in law.

Duties:

  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure accuracy and accessibility for attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
  • Analyze legal issues, evaluate options, and determine the best course of action for clients.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in preparing for hearings or legal proceedings under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Collaborate with clients and senior team members to drive cases toward resolution.
  • Provide excellent client service in line with the firm’s values and culture.
  • Conduct "Discovery Calls" with prospective clients to assess their legal needs and match them with suitable solutions.
  • Build rapport with prospective clients, converting consultations into retained cases.
  • Review and explain billing structures and retainer agreements to clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients concerning financial arrangements and ensure timely payment collection.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to identify opportunities for client engagement and referrals.
  • Draft, file, and review legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Work closely with the team to generate legal theories and strategies for clients' cases.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Must have passed the State Bar exam and hold an active license to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Experience in professional licensing/administrative law matters is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively under the mentorship of senior attorneys to support client needs.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage caseloads and adhere to firm protocols.
  • Experience with cloud-based technology (e.g., Google Drive) and law firm management software is required.
  • Proficiency in meeting and task management tools, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Active membership in the American Bar Association (ABA) is preferred.

Skills:

  • Effective legal research and writing.
