The successful candidate will work closely with clients and the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney to deliver high-quality legal services and case management.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft relevant legal documents
• Represent clients in pretrial hearings and provide strategic advice following each hearing
• Handle court appearances, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct thorough legal research
• Analyze case outcomes based on legal precedents
• Oversee case management, including maintaining up-to-date case records and documents
• Provide in-depth legal analysis to clients, identifying potential case advantages
• Gather additional evidence to support clients or refute the prosecution's charges
• Prepare clients for depositions and collaborate with witnesses and experts to strengthen case strategy

Requirements:

• Genuine interest in developing expertise in criminal defense
• Experience or willingness to work on complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
• Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate on strategies and assist colleagues
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus but not mandatory
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Must be an admitted attorney in good standing

Certifications:

• Admitted to the State Bar of California (mandatory)

• Ability to manage a caseload independently and handle courtroom procedures
