Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled associate attorney to join their growing intellectual property team. This position involves working on a diverse range of technology litigation matters, focusing on trademark, copyright, and trade-secret law, including cutting-edge issues related to Artificial Intelligence. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex IP litigation and the ability to manage client relationships while developing effective legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technology-related litigation and enforcement matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to create comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Develop strategies for complex legal cases, including litigation and enforcement actions.
  • Advise clients on legal risks surrounding product development and innovation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and produce high-quality written work.
  • Manage the discovery phase of litigation, including overseeing e-discovery with clients and vendors.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues in writing and verbally.
  • Work closely with clients and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trademark, copyright, and/or trade-secret litigation, emphasizing false advertising.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws such as the Lanham Act, the Copyright Act, the DMCA, state and federal trade-secret statutes, and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).
  • Strong ability to engage with a wide range of legal principles, especially those related to technology and IP.
  • Motivated, proactive, and driven, with excellent academic credentials and superior writing and communication skills.
  • Must be a member of the State Bar in the location of the office.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar in the applicable jurisdiction is required.

Salaries are in line with other top Bay Area firms, and the firm provides a $10,000 bonus for all lawyers who bill at least 1,950 hours, with additional money based on three separate billable hour levels above 1,950.
